Job summary

Pedernales Electric Cooperative is seeking a field-focused technician to support operation, maintenance, construction and repair of transmission and distribution systems in Johnson City, TX. The role involves working with boom/digger/bucket trucks, assisting Linemen, and progressing through Apprentice status with formal climbing and safety training.

The starting base pay is $26.79 per hour, plus KPI bonuses and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of customer service principles helpful.
• Able to manage time effectively and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain transmission/distribution equipment.
• Assist in digging, pole setting, and truck operations.
• Support experienced Linemen and participate in climbing school progression.
• Prepare materials and tools for daily projects and move equipment as needed.
• Operate PEC vehicles in compliance with laws and policies.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and driver eligibility; attend training as scheduled.
