Job Summary

Performs activities related to the retrieval of soiled linen, processing of linen, and distribution of clean linen.

Preferred Qualifications

Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

The following describes the general nature of work for this position. Other duties may be assigned as needed:

1. Provide efficient, courteous customer service while performing duties of Linen Service Attendant.
2. Answer telephone calls within 5 rings courteously and efficiently.
3. Respond promptly to emergency requests.
4. Respond to walk-in and telephone requests, providing or sending items as needed.
5. Deliver and pick up linen with courteous service.
6. Operate computer-controlled washers, dryers, spreaders, and flatwork ironers according to operational and safety procedures, adjusting speed as necessary.
7. Operate computer-controlled folders and have sufficient equipment knowledge to adjust within safety guidelines.
8. Notify supervision of equipment malfunctions or issues requiring immediate attention.
9. Retrieve and transport soiled linen from designated areas on a set schedule.
10. Deliver exchange carts or requisitioned linen to designated areas.
11. Perform housekeeping duties to maintain an orderly laundry environment.
12. Inventory and record linen orders for delivery to offsite locations.
13. Operate hand-held computers to inventory and restock linen exchange carts, ensuring sufficient stock for delivery.
14. Log and document all linen issues.
15. Complete educational modules via Net Learning.
16. Assist in training new employees.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand, walk, and handle linens for prolonged periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and push carts weighing up to 600 pounds.

Work Environment

Willingness to work in hot, humid, and noisy environments performing repetitive tasks.

Skills and Abilities

Skills in operating computerized laundry equipment safely and accurately, including inventory management and math skills for counting and stocking.
