Job summary

OGE Energy Corp. is seeking a Cable Splicer Apprentice in Oklahoma City to perform installation, repair, and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution systems and related facilities.

The role includes on-the-job training, and progression toward journey-level responsibilities as training and performance advance. The apprenticeship emphasizes safety, documentation, and the ability to work in diverse environments, including substations and wind farms, to ensure reliable electric service

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and follow Construction Standards and SOPs.
• Requires basic computer skills and attention to documentation.
• Demonstrates mechanical aptitude for field work and equipment use.
• Ability to work safely in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair transformers, cable, meters for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
• Repair primary/underground distribution components and perform terminations.
• Maintain records including time sheets and reports accurately.
• Locate and repair underground faults on primary and secondary circuits.
• Troubleshoot and restore service during emergencies and outages.
• Operate and maintain equipment and vehicle; participate in safety meetings.
