Job summary

United Cooperative Services invites applicants for an Apprentice Lineman I in the Mansfield Operations Department. The position requires a valid Class A CDL, pre-employment physical and drug screen, and offers progressive pay and strong benefits.

This non-exempt trainee role starts at $27.63 per hour and is open until filled. Responsibilities include assisting line crews in overhead and underground distribution work, operating vehicles, and performing groundwork while adhering to safety

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 1–3 months related experience and/or training.
• Must acquire within a reasonable time span knowledge of cooperative safety rules and policies.
• Must possess or obtain a valid Texas commercial driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Sets anchors, aligns and frames poles according to REA qualifications as directed.
• Attends lineman on pole at all times.
• Loads and unloads poles, transformers and other items as needed.
• Checks material in and out of the warehouse.
• Assists in building line and facilities; accounts for material used and returns it to the warehouse.
• Trims with pruning sticks and cuts trees as required.
• Ensures tools/materials are properly placed on vehicles and kept orderly; reports repairs needed.
• Repairs tools and equipment as necessary.
