Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking an Apprentice Lineman B to join its team for the maintenance of electrical overhead distribution systems. The role involves semi-skilled work with exposure to high elevations and heavy equipment, including trucks and cranes.

Qualified applicants will have 2½+ years of groundman/lineman experience, a valid CDL-B, and the ability to work irregular hours and travel as needed. Safety-conscious and physically capable candidates are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 1/2 years’ experience in groundman and lineman work.
• Ability to travel on short notice; anytime.
• Available to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays.
• Possess at minimum a valid CDL-B license.
• Possess own tools.
• Ability to perform physically demanding construction duties in harsh weather.

Responsibilities

• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Follow safety practices and report unsafe conditions.
• Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment.
• Construct, maintain, and repair overhead distribution systems and substations.
• Identify defective components using diagrams and testing instruments.
• Drive vehicles to job sites with tools and materials.
• Lay and splice cables and conduits as required.
