Job summary

United Cooperative Services seeks an Apprentice Lineman I for our Burleson Operations Department in Burleson, Texas. The role assists line crews in construction, maintenance and operation of overhead and underground distribution lines and requires a valid Class A CDL with an acceptable MVR. Candidates with lineman school training are strongly preferred.

A pre-employment physical and drug screen are required. This is a career job with progressive pay and an outstanding benefits package.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 1–3 months related experience or training.
• Must acquire knowledge of safety rules, RUS specs, and TJ&S safety handbook.
• Must possess or obtain a valid Texas commercial driver’s license.
• Lineman school program completion preferred due to foundational knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist line crews in constructing, maintaining, and operating distribution lines.
• Operate vehicles and perform groundwork; ensure safety policies are followed.
• Load and unload poles, transformers, and other items; manage warehouse material.
• Help build lines and facilities; account for materials used and return to warehouse.
• Assist in meter loops, transformers, switches, and other electrical apparatus.
