Job summary

Bird Electric Enterprises is seeking a skilled lineman helper to assist in installing and repairing cables and wires for electrical power and distribution systems. You will work under established plans, using hand and power tools, and may erect poles and transmission structures.

Emphasis is on safety, teamwork, and hands-on electrical work. Ideal candidates have 3,000 documented hours in a DOL-approved lineman program, developing knowledge of installation and repair, and minimum age of 18.

Qualifications

• 3,000 documented hours and proven DOL approved lineman apprentice program participation.
• Working knowledge of the lineman craft.
• Developing knowledge of the installation or repair of cables or wires used in electrical power or distribution systems and transmission towers and lines.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble, install, test or repair cables or wires.
• Help install, maintain, inspect, test, and repair electrical distribution and transmission systems.
• Climb poles or use bucket access equipment to reach equipment.
• Drive to job sites and travel to inspect lines.
• Follow safety rules and participate in safety programs.
