Chain Electric Company is seeking an Apprentice Lineman B to join our field crew focused on electrical distribution systems. The role involves climbing, wiring, splicing, and installing equipment at heights and underground, with an emphasis on safety and efficiency in outdoor environments.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, lineman training, a valid CDL-B, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Travel on short notice and irregular hours are expected as needed.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required with lineman training preferred.
• Able to travel on short notice and work irregular hours, including holidays.
• Valid CDL-B license and own hand tools required.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs and maintaining color vision for safe operation.

Responsibilities

• Regular attendance and punctuality in daily work.
• Adhere to safety practices and report unsafe conditions.
• Climb poles or operate bucket trucks to access equipment at heights.
• Construct, maintain and repair overhead/underground distribution systems and substations.
• Splice or solder cables and lay underground cables in trenches or through conduits.
• Dig holes, set poles with cranes, and pull cables by hand from reels.
• Control traffic around work zones and keep unauthorized people away.
