Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking an experienced A-Lineman to safely perform skilled electrical work on underground and overhead distribution systems, with potential supervision of others. Expect weather-related challenges and working around energized lines.

The role involves climbing, testing, splicing, installing, and maintaining lines, with travel to sites and irregular hours. Candidates should have a CDL-B, own tools, and strong safety and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of directly related experience.
  • Must have a valid CDL-B license.
  • Must live within one hour drive of Union Springs, AL.
  • Own your own tools and equipment.
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs and read instructions.
  • Willing to work irregular hours and travel on short notice.
  • Strong communication and safety focus.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety practices and procedures and check equipment regularly.
  • Open switches or attach grounding devices to remove hazards and facilitate repairs.
  • Climb poles and use bucket trucks to access equipment.
  • Safely construct, maintain, and repair overhead and underground distribution systems.
  • Inspect and test power lines to locate problems using instruments.
  • Splice or solder cables and lay underground cables in trenches.
  • Travel to job sites by truck or other transportation as needed.
