Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking an Apprentice Lineman B to join our overhead distribution crew in Texas. This semi-skilled role involves construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution systems in accordance with standard trade practices.

You will climb poles or use bucket trucks, perform conduit and cable work, and uphold safety standards while supporting substations and related equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 1/2 years' experience in groundman and lineman work.
• Lineman training school qualifies for experience; field assessment to determine competency.
• Ability to travel at a moment's notice, anytime

Responsibilities

• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Adhere to safety practices and procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment at heights.
• Construct, maintain, and repair overhead/underground distribution systems and substations.
• Drive vehicles and string wire conductors between poles and structures.
• Dig holes and set poles using cranes and power equipment.
• Splice or solder cables and inspect wiring with appropriate tools.
• Lay underground cable in trenches or conduits.
