Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking an experienced A-Lineman to safely perform skilled electrical work in the construction, maintenance and operation of distribution and transmission systems. The role may involve supervising others and requires working around energized equipment in varied weather conditions.

The candidate must have 4+ years of experience, a valid CDL-B, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Travel and irregular hours are expected; strong safety awareness and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 4 years of directly related experience or more.
• Willingness to travel on short notice and irregular hours.
• Must possess a valid CDL-B license.
• Must own personal tools.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Able to perform physically demanding construction work in harsh weather.
• Good color vision and depth perception.
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety practices and procedures around work areas.
• Open switches or attach grounding devices to remove electrical hazards.
• Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment.
• Construct, maintain, and repair overhead and underground distribution systems and substations.
• Inspect and test power lines and equipment to locate problems.
• Splice or solder cables and lay underground/conduit as needed.
