Role Overview
This position involves safely and efficiently transporting products via tractor-trailer from the warehouse to customers, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to safety and food protocols.
Responsibilities
- Transport goods to customer locations, load and unload according to specifications.
- Complete all paperwork, including logs, inspections, maintenance reports, and invoices, accurately and promptly.
- Maintain food safety standards, such as proper temperatures during transport.
- Operate equipment safely, report unsafe conditions, and develop good customer relationships through courteous service and communication.
- Coordinate with management regarding route deviations, trailer issues, or customer concerns.
- Work flexible hours, including outside usual schedules, to meet customer needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; tractor-trailer driving experience preferred or completion of a driving school.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License; insurability to operate a vehicle.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, hazmat guidelines, and safe lifting/delivery practices.
- Skill in long-distance driving, problem-solving, communication, and product delivery.
- Ability to operate large trucks, read/write in English, perform basic math, and plan work independently.
Physical & Work Environment
- Regularly sit, talk, hear; occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds, climb in/out of trucks, and push/pull heavy loads.
- Work in varied conditions including wet, hot, cold, and humid environments, sometimes in confined spaces or at heights.
- Expected to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
