Job summary

Simmons Foods is seeking a capable candidate to visually grade product on the production line, ensuring only quality items meet customer specifications and requirements for weight or count. The role involves removing defects, rotating to different line stations, and adhering to team-based policies and continuous improvement initiatives.

The position emphasizes teamwork, participation in team meetings, and alignment with Simmons Operating systems.

Qualifications

• Visually grades product on the line to ensure only quality product that meets customer requirements such as quality, weight or count remains on the line.
• Removes defective product and places it into identified defect groups.
• Candidate would be required to complete and pass a customer specification test before becoming qualified.
• May rotate to other positions on the line as needed.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a member of the Team, supports development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies.
• Coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members; attends team meetings.
• Fosters cohesiveness on major issues and escalates concerns to the team leader.
• Performs duties in line with Simmons operating systems, policies and systems.
• Works in a loud, wet and cold line environment; uses PPE as required.
• Physical ability to lift up to 10 lbs as needed.
