Job summary

Boxcar Coffee Roasters LLC is seeking a Line & Prep Cook in Boulder, CO. This role focuses on kitchen production, roasting veggies and meats, jams and sauces, and crafting toasts and sandwiches with creativity.

The position is part-time (30 hrs/week) with potential for full-time (35 hrs/week). Shifts include opening and closing times with some weekend availability; kitchen teamwork and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Back-of-house kitchen experience preferred.
• Willingness to work opening and closing shifts, including weekends.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food according to recipes, including spreads, marinades, and jams, using kitchen equipment.
• Complete trainings to ensure competency and safety when handling knives and slicers.
• Multitask between prep work and fulfilling orders through a ticketing system.
• Assemble meals to order according to plating examples and measurements.
• Batch produce ready-to-eat food for later consumption (sandwiches, salads, etc.).
• Weigh out portions of meat, cheese, and veggies using slicers and scales.
• Follow food safety guidelines for prep, storage and serving.
• Wash dishes with industrial dishwasher or 3-bay sink and keep area clean.
• Communicate prep lists and needs for next day production.
• Receive and store food and goods orders; report issues promptly.
• Cross-train on register to support FOH during busy times.
