Job summary

American Airlines is seeking an Inspection Team supervisor within the Integrated Operations Division. You will oversee the Line Maintenance Organization, administer quality control programs, and ensure regulatory compliance with FAA standards.

The role requires coordinating with production and support teams, and certifying airworthiness after inspections. The position emphasizes leadership of union inspectors, adherence to maintenance programs, and constant focus on safety, quality, and process

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • 4 years experience in the operation and repair of air carrier maintenance programs.
  • Experience equivalent to undergraduate degree or similar technical school.
  • Experience in managing teams and utilizing continuous improvement processes.
  • Experience in monitoring and improving organizational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors compliance with the approved AA Maintenance Program and CFR.
  • Maintains Inspection staff compliance with QC and maintenance program as directed by QC Manager.
  • Ensures Inspection staff follows methods to maintain product quality necessary to meet AA standards and FAA regulations.
  • Supervises and manages union inspectors in audits, visual inspection, testing, NDT, borescope and work finding.
  • Leads team that monitors work in progress for workmanship and regulatory compliance.
  • Notifies and assists line maintenance in initiating corrective actions as needed.
  • Leads audits to ensure work matches provided instructions.
  • Documents deficiencies to American Airline Quality Control leadership.
  • Works with local support teams and other departments.
  • Facilitates active participation of all team members and removes obstacles to achieve results.
  • Certifies airworthiness of aircraft released for service and returns of components per regulations.
  • Ensures inspectors possess proper qualifications for their duties.
  • Recommends new/revised procedures for upgrading quality systems.
  • Occasional travel domestically and/or internationally; rotating shifts, nights, weekends.
  • Must fulfill FAA background checks to qualify for SIDA access if applicable.
