Job summary

Tempur Sealy in High Point, NC is seeking a Line Loader/Feeder to move raw materials from storage to the production area and to read work orders to determine which materials to pull. You may use carts to transport materials and must maintain efficient material flow on the line.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or sitting for long shifts, and frequent material handling in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work in a standing and sitting position for long shifts (8+ hours).
• Frequent lifting and moving of materials and components.
• Ability to push/pull wheeled carts and manage material flow.
• Reliable and punctual attendance; overtime and some Saturdays may be required.

Responsibilities

• Distribute materials to the workforce in a timely fashion.
• Read material placement plan and production schedule to plan daily production.
• Lift and move materials to the mattress assembly line; assist with base units as needed.
• Sort materials by size, type, style, color, or product code for assembly.
• Record damaged or substituted materials and maintain accurate counts.
• Interact professionally with coworkers and maintain work area housekeeping.

Job Summary- Line Loader /Feeder

Responsible for moving raw materials from the storage areas / materials supermarkets and components from the production areas to the work areas. Reads the work orders/production tickets to determine the appropriate materials to pull and move. May use carts to transport materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs a combination of tasks in order to distribute materials to the rest of the work force as needed in a timely fashion.
• Material placement plan and production schedule are read to plan the production for the day and to assure accurate delivery of mattress materials to the rest of the team.
• Lift and carry materials from trains to 20\" high mattress assembly line. Second person assistance is available for king and queen size base units.
• Sorts and places materials on the mattress assembly line according to predetermined sequence, such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Records number of materials that are damaged or substituted.
• Interact and respond professionally to co-worker's requests.
• Perform housekeeping in assigned area/place all scrap material in baler.
• Safe operation of the baler is important.

Job Requirements :

• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to work in a standing and sitting position for a minimum 8 hours or more per shift.
• Continuous pushing and pulling a wheeled cart containing the units and materials. Frequent lifting of units on and off carts.
• Frequent walking, squatting, turning, twisting, pushing, bending, etc. in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment.
• Excellent attendance-must be reliable and punctual.
• Must be willing to work overtime and occasional Saturdays.
