Job summary

Tempur Sealy is seeking a warehouse materials handler in Maryland to gather components from storage and production areas, load them onto carts, and move them to the mattress assembly line. The role requires frequent lifting, bending, and pushing/pulling carts, with a focus on safe, efficient material flow.

The position offers a pay rate of $22.01 per hour, Monday through Friday schedules, and benefits including medical, dental, life, PTO, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• Frequent lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and handling components.
• Ability to push/pull wheeled carts and move materials between areas.

Responsibilities

• Gather mattress components from storage and work-in-progress areas.
• Load materials onto carts and transport to mattress assembly area.
• Maintain safe, efficient movement of materials through the facility.

This position is responsible for gathering mattress components from the shelves in the storage area ("materials supermarket") and from other production ("work in progress") areas to the mattress assembly area. The employee pushes a wheeled cart up and down the storage area aisles and gathers materials based on the "Bill of Material" or "production ticket" and loads it onto a wheeled cart. Once all the materials are on the cart, the employee pushes or pulls the wheeled cart to the applicable mattress assembly area.

Physical Job Duties:

• Continuous walking through the storage areas to gather mattress components.
• Frequent bending to retrieve materials / mattress components from lower storage shelves.
• Frequent reaching overhead to retrieve components from higher levels of storage.
• Frequent pushing and pulling of wheeled carts loaded with components.
• Frequent repetitive use of hands/arms handling component parts.
• Frequent grasping of component parts.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
