Job summary

Carvana in Hoffman Estates, IL is seeking a Line Lead to supervise and develop a team of hourly associates in our Inspection Center, driving production targets and quality. You will mentor staff, monitor safety, and coordinate with leadership to ensure repairs meet Carvana standards while maintaining a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience using computers
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Demonstrated functional expertise in reconditioning processes
• Understanding of lean principles in reconditioning
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUIs and no more than two moving violations in 3 years)
• Able to lift up to 60 pounds independently; lifting from knee to shoulder heights
• Standing for extended periods; environment may be cold/hot/noisy/wet with fumes or odors
• Use of safety equipment (face shield/goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask)
• Ability to maintain high volume and quality content; multitask and prioritize; resolve complex issues with guidance
• Overtime and weekend work; variable schedules; accommodations available for disabilities

Responsibilities

• Manage the movement of cars into and out of the Inspection Center safely while meeting production and quality goals
• Meet or exceed inventory production goals daily, weekly and monthly
• Oversee day-to-day activities of the team; identify strengths/weaknesses and opportunities
• Coach, develop and manage performance; provide timely feedback
• Create a work environment with positive communication and team cohesion
• Communicate expectations, performance measures and goals clearly to the team
• Prevent and resolve conflicts among team members
• Monitor adherence to systems, policies, procedures and performance standards
• Review and approve identified mechanical/physical defects of incoming inventory
• Lead a team of production associates and partner with the Inspection Center GM on repairs or rejections
• Train production associates on Quality Control standards to minimize re-checks
• Identify and complete repairs effectively the first time to minimize re-work
• Promote safe working practices to reduce injuries
• Effectively manage multiple associates and support their development and performance
