Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. seeks a Line Haul Supervisor to oversee freight operations, coach drivers, and ensure timely, safe deliveries. You will work with a cross-functional team, use OD’s technology to monitor shipments, and strive for on-time performance across service centers.

The role requires strong leadership, knowledge of DOT regulations, and proficiency with AS400 and related systems. A path for growth and driver development is emphasized within OD’s family culture.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2 years working operations experience, preferably in transportation.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of AS400, Microsoft Office, DYMS and BLU systems.
• Knowledge of general DOT regulations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and supervise drivers to ensure safe and on-time performance.
• Coordinate with Operations Manager and dispatch teams to optimize lanes and docking.
• Monitor compliance with safety regulations, RPM, idle scores, and speed policies.
• Utilize OD’s technology system to track shipments and communicate with drivers.
• Prepare and review shipping manifests and freight-related forms.
• Drive continuous improvement in service center operations.
