Job summary

Tsaina Lodge and Rendezvous Lodge seek professional line cooks for the 2027 ski season in Valdez, Alaska. Responsibilities include supporting the Executive and Sous Chefs, setting up and stocking stations, and preparing high-quality dishes according to Chef’s specifications.

Position offers seasonal work with housing provided and meals plan. Pay ranges from $20 to $22 per hour depending on experience; requires Alaska Food Workers card and flexible schedule, including weekends.

Qualifications

We are looking for professional line cooks to prepare food to the Chef’s exact specifications and to set up stations for menu items. Responsibilities are the following, but not limited to:

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Executive Chef and Sous Chef with their daily tasks.
• Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills and food and safety practices
• Prepare food for service (chopping vegetables, butchering proteins, preparing sauces, among other duties)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Ability to take direction from the Head Chef and Sous Chefin a consistent and efficient manner
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
• Wash Dishes if necessary for order of kitchenand safety

Requirements

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Familiar with industry’s best practices
• Flexible schedule expectations, including weekends, evening and mornings
• Ability to remain adaptable to varying needs ofthe lodge and clients if things change due to weather conditions and the ability to fly
• Valid Alaska Food Workers card

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Available for seasonal work from the end ofFebruary 19, 2027 to April 20, 2027. Communal living experience is required.

PAY: This position pays $20 to $22 per hour depending on experience

BENEFITS: Housing is provided free of charge. Meals are $70/week, this includes hot basic breakfast, lunch (self made) sandwich, soup, or hot microwavable items and 4 snack items limited due to are, Safeway is available to order and pick up if you wish for more items, with a hot buffet style dinner, which are all provided in the community yurt.
