The Ruby Slipper Cafe is seeking a Kitchen Associate to accurately and efficiently prepare hot foods, portion before cooking, and garnish plates. You will follow Ruby standards, maintain clean prep areas, and work with the team in a high-paced brunch environment.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of kitchen experience, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and communicate clearly with managers and team members. Daytime shifts are available, with growth opportunities and benefits.

Job Summary:

Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products as well as prepare and portion food prior to cooking. Responsible for performing other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.

What does it take to be a Ruby Krewe Member?

• A firm belief that butter and bacon make everything better!
• Able to follow Ruby Standards and recipes consistently – responsible for the quality of products served
• Complies with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and front of house krewe members
• Be able to reach, bend stoop, and frequently lift up to 50lbs
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
