Job summary

F1 Arcade in Washington, DC is seeking a Line Cook to join our culinary team. You will follow recipes, prepare dishes to brand standards, and plate with accuracy, speed, and visual appeal to ensure a memorable guest experience.

Qualifications

Job Title: Line Cook

Location: Washington, DC

Reporting To: Head Chef

Position Overview: Reporting to the culinary leadership team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to the highest standards. You'll follow recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in every dish, helping to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Your focus on accuracy, speed, and taste will be key to the kitchen's success.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Culinary execution & quality – prepare and cook dishes to brand standards, ensuring each plate meets expectations for taste, presentation, and timing.
  • Kitchen operations & workflow – support smooth kitchen operations by staying organized during prep and service, following station responsibilities, and communicating clearly with the team.
  • Team collaboration & growth – work closely with other team members in a supportive, respectful environment, contributing to a positive kitchen culture.
  • Inventory & waste management – assist with receiving deliveries, rotating stock, and maintaining organized storage areas to reduce waste and support cost control.
  • Food safety & hygiene – follow all food safety and hygiene procedures, keeping your station clean and supporting a safe, compliant kitchen environment.
  • Operational support – contribute to daily kitchen needs such as prep lists, labeling, and equipment care to keep the kitchen organized and service‑ready.
Skills Required
  • Experience: 1‑2 years in a high‑volume kitchen environment with a solid understanding of prep, service, and station management.
  • Culinary skills: Strong foundation in cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation, with a focus on consistency and quality.
  • Team collaboration: Work effectively as part of a kitchen team, demonstrating reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
  • Efficiency & organization: Follow portioning and prep guidelines to support cost control and reduce waste.
  • Food safety & compliance: Demonstrate knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards; certification (e.g., ServSafe) is a plus.
  • Operational support: Assist with day‑to‑day kitchen operations including prep, stock rotation, and maintaining a clean, orderly workstation.
  • Communication & coordination: Maintain clear communication with both kitchen and front‑of‑house teams to ensure timely, high‑quality food delivery.
Basic Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit for short periods, manipulate objects, lift up to 10 pounds constantly and up to 50 pounds as required, perform twisting, reaching, and moving tasks in hot or cold environments. Frequent hand washing and sanitation are required. Ability to use knives, slicing equipment, and other food preparation equipment and to communicate with guests and team members.
