Job summary

New Waterloo is seeking a line cook for our Cincinnati kitchen to ensure safe, sanitary food-handling practices, prep, cook, and plate dishes with consistency. You will follow recipes, monitor temps, and assist in stocking and restocking supplies while delivering friendly guest service in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has state-issued food handler certification, relevant hospitality experience, and strong math and reading comprehension to interpret safety rules and recipes.

Qualifications

• State-issued food handling certification as required.
• Related experience in the culinary or hospitality industry preferred.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language of the workplace.
• Able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Able to speak effectively before guests and groups of co-workers.
• Able to apply basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Responsibilities

• Inspect food preparation and serving areas for sanitary practices.
• Prepare, season, and cook dishes according to recipes and procedures.
• Meet guests' special needs, including allergies or dietary restrictions.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitization of work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes.
• Store food properly to prevent spoilage and manage inventory.
