Job summary

Guest Services Lakeland, FL is seeking a line cook to join the restaurant kitchen team. The role involves daily production, preparation, and presentation of all menu items in a safe and sanitary environment, following supervisor instructions.

You will work with kitchen staff, prep foods, rotate stock using FIFO, maintain cleanliness, and support station operations while ensuring high standards of food safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. preferred; at least one year of culinary knowledge.
• Food Safety certification and strong sanitation habits.
• Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
• Ability to recognize problems and communicate them to management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food items according to recipes, daily menus, and supervisor instructions.
• Maintain and rotate all food items to ensure quality; date and label items and practice FIFO.
• Clean and inspect kitchen equipment, appliances, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
• Operate food station, including checklist, temperature log, and signage.
• Requisition food supplies, equipment, and appliances based on future needs.
• Monitor menus and spending to ensure meals are prepared economically.
• Be knowledgeable of all stations and plate presentations.
• Maintain awareness of safety issues and report them to your manager.
