Job summary

Landed in Norwalk, CT is seeking a line cook to prepare meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot foods, portion and garnish plates, and ensure consistent presentation during service. You will follow recipes and portion sizes, inspect freshness, rotate stock, and work with fellow cooks to maintain line accuracy; must stay composed in high-pressure, fast-paced environments and uphold sanitary standards.

Additional duties include supporting off-peak prep, closing the kitchen, and assisting team

Qualifications

• Prior experience in related food service positions required.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
• Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; cooperates with coworkers; works with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a high-stress environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, and maintain food prep areas and surfaces to ensure sanitary handling.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill, fryer, roaster temperatures to keep food safe.
• Check freshness, rotate stock, and ensure proper storage of ingredients.
• Stock line stations to support smooth service and assist when needed.
• Follow recipes and standard portions; garnish and plate foods.
• Assist fellow cooks during emergencies or rushes and close kitchen shifts.
