Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred; 1 year related food service experience.
• Experience in related food service positions required.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Promotes positive public relations with guests.
• Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; teamwork.
• Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Basic math for recipe scaling and portion control.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Set up, stock and organize workstation at the beginning of the day.
• Thaw, cut and prepare food items and portion items for production.
• Prepare menu items with proper plate presentation and garnish.
• Use knives and kitchen equipment to prepare items to order.
• Plan production to coordinate with meal serving hours and maintain quality.
• Maintain storage temperatures and FIFO rotation; label dates.
• Clean and sanitize workstation and equipment during and after shifts.
• Identify food items and maintain organization of storerooms.
• Report equipment issues and participate in general kitchen duties.
