Job summary

San Diego Mission Bay Resort is seeking a Line Cook for the PM shift to craft dishes for our Food & Beverage outlets. You will plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in a high-volume, upscale kitchen within the resort.

You should have 1–2 years of experience, strong knife skills, English proficiency, and a team‑oriented attitude. Safety, cleanliness and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds are also required.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knife skills, cold & hot line knowledge to include classic knife cuts and multiple cooking techniques.
• Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to multi-task and manage aggressive ticket times in a high-volume environment.
• Safe food handling and sanitation are paramount.
• 1–2 years of previous experience in a similar setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in all areas of food production for our Food & Beverage outlets.
• Work as part of a team to deliver dishes to guests on time while maintaining standards.
• Follow daily checklists and report issues to management as needed.

The JOB:

As a Line Cook - PM Shift you will get the opportunity to create masterpieces for all our guests to enjoy! Our cooks are the heart of our resort, using their skills and expertise to delight our guests with their culinary creations. Our cooks plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in all areas of food production for our Food & Beverage outlets.

YOU:

To be successful in this position, we're looking for someone who thrives on training and learning as you go. This role requires good communication skills, basic culinary skills and the desire to learn and grow.

Comprehensive knife skills, cold & hot line knowledge to include classic knife cuts and multiple cooking techniques. Management of special requests and aggressive ticket times is essential. Ability to multi-task, team-oriented, positive attitude, flexibility is a must. Safe food handling and sanitation is paramount.

Previous experience in high volume, upscale, from-scratch kitchen. English proficiency. Positive, team-oriented attitude is a must. 1-2 years of previous experience working in a similar setting.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; bend, twist, squat, stoop, reach above head. Follow direction from supervisors and assimilate critique as part of daily growth. Focus on teamwork and constant and regular communication with fellow employees and supervisors. Follow daily checklist and report any issues or challenges to management team.
