Job Description

Reports To: Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Executive Chef

General Purpose: Accurately and efficiently cook hot food products, prepare and portion food prior to cooking, and perform duties related to food and final plate preparation, including plating and garnishing.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Understand menu and techniques required to execute dishes properly.
• Report to work on time and be prepared for scheduled shifts.
• Work effectively as part of a team.
• Bring necessary tools such as microplanes, knives, tongs, spatula, and spoons; other tools are provided by the restaurant.
• Taste and season food appropriately, regardless of dish simplicity.
• Work with various heat sources and cooking methods.
• Receive and apply feedback positively.
• Use knowledge of proteins, fruits, vegetables, grains, spices, and vinegars.
• Learn actively through inquiry.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation before, during, and after service.
• Assist with station setup and pars to help with ordering and prep lists.
• Identify product quality and freshness.

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training
