Qualifications

• Pastry experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of cook experience in hospitality or healthcare.
• Food handlers permit as required by state law and/or company standards.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and production guides.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of culinary customer service and promote a fine dining experience.
• Work with the Director of Culinary Services and/or Executive Director to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.
• Maintain kitchen and food storage and prep areas clean, safe and sanitary at all times.
• Open and/or close the kitchen as needed.
• Adhere to cleaning schedules and ensure food is received, stored and prepared to company standards.
• Estimate daily or weekly food and supply needs and communicate with culinary leadership.
• Prepare meals according to recipes and menus, and document food temperatures prior to service.
• Ensure snacks and beverages are available to residents at all times.
• Keep floors clean and trash emptied; assist with transport/storage of food and supplies.
• Assist with special events, banquets, and theme meals; attend pre-meal kitchen stand-up.
• May perform other duties as needed.
