Job summary

Columbia Hospitality is seeking a Cook I to create menu magic and keep guests happy at our Iowa location. You will open/close kitchen procedures, guide line cooks, and adapt to guest needs with timely service.

Responsibilities include preparing items per recipes, leading small teams for banquets, and maintaining sanitary, well-equipped kitchens. Requires 1+ year of experience and a State Food Handler’s License.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of industry experience.
• Able to cook proteins to pre-determined temperatures.
• Direct a banquet up to 100 with a small team.
• Must have State Food Handler’s License(s).
• Able to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos and present information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items according to recipes and guest specifications.
• Cook proteins to required temperatures and ensure dish quality.
• Lead small culinary teams in banquet execution and daily prep needs.
• Follow local/state food handling and storage practices.
• Conduct inventory and communicate replenishment needs to Chef team.
• Ensure sanitary and well-maintained kitchen areas and equipment.
