Qualifications

• Previous restaurant cooking experience preferred
• Experience preparing local Hawaii, Japanese, or okazuya-style food is a plus
• Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
• Good knife skills and basic cooking knowledge
• Dependable, punctual, and hardworking
• Able to follow recipes and instructions
• Strong attention to detail and food quality
• Willing to help coworkers and work as a team
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Available for early morning shifts

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
• Maintain consistent food quality, taste, presentation, and portion sizes
• Assist with daily food preparation and high-volume production
• Ensure food is prepared on time and ready for daily service
• Properly prepare, portion, and store ingredients
• Monitor food temperatures and maintain food safety standards
• Keep cooking stations clean, organized, and properly stocked
• Follow proper food rotation and FIFO procedures
• Minimize food waste while maintaining quality
• Assist with inventory and receiving deliveries when needed
• Clean and sanitize cooking equipment and work areas
• Work closely with other cooks and kitchen staff
• Assist with opening, closing, and general kitchen duties

Serving Hawaii since 1961, Kabuki is known for its traditional local-style Japanese food and okazuya favorites. We're looking for cooks who take pride in preparing quality food, work well with others, and can keep up with a fast-paced kitchen.
