Job summary

The Mokara Hotel & Spa is seeking a Line Cook 2 to join our kitchen team on the San Antonio Riverwalk. You will ensure all food is prepared to menu specifications and work with fellow kitchen staff to deliver quality dishes in a timely manner.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of hotel/restaurant culinary experience, strong communication, and the ability to follow recipes. Culinary degree or formal training is preferred; safety and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work with others.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain high standards of food quality.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently prepare all food items as directed by supervisor and specifications.
• Have knowledge of culinary fundamentals and techniques.
• Work on hot/cold line and execute menu items within the timeline.
• Stay organized with prep sheets and station guides to prepare for service.
• Use all culinary equipment properly and safely.
• Plate presentations meeting specifications and quality standards.
• Communicate with team members and maintain professional attitude under pressure.
• Attend monthly department meetings and training; perform other duties as assigned.
