Job summary

Talbot County Government’s Hog Neck Golf Course Café is seeking a part-time Line Cook to prepare and cook menu items to order, maintaining quality and food safety. The role requires teamwork in a fast-paced, seasonal setting and the ability to keep stations clean and organized for efficient service.

The position is part-time, with mornings and some evenings during peak season; compensation is competitive hourly wage with potential for additional hours as the golf season expands.

Qualifications

• Previous line cook, prep cook, restaurant, café, or food-service experience preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen sanitation.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portions, and presentation standards.
• Set up and stock assigned workstations before service.
• Prepare ingredients including meats, vegetables, sauces, sandwiches, salads, and other café items.
• Cook food accurately and efficiently during busy periods.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and follow all food-safety procedures.
• Keep workstations and surfaces clean and organized.
• Label, date, and rotate food using FIFO.
