Job summary

Talbot County Government’s Hog Neck Golf Course is seeking a Café Attendant to deliver friendly front-of-house service to golfers and guests.

You will take orders, process payments at the POS, assist with light food and beverage prep, and help keep the café clean and stocked. The role requires a 21+ age if handling alcohol, flexible hours including weekends.

This part-time, non-exempt position offers cash tips and a team-focused environment at the Easton clubhouse.

Qualifications

• Experience in café, kitchen, or customer service preferred.
• Energetic, outgoing attitude with a passion for helping people.
• Ability to stay organized and calm during busy periods.
• Clear verbal skills to coordinate orders smoothly with kitchen staff.
• Basic understanding or willingness to learn golf course etiquette.
• Must be at least 21 years old if handling alcoholic beverage sales.

Responsibilities

• Greet golfers and provide quick, polite service.
• Use the POS system to log food and beverage orders.
• Prepare standard grill/snack bar items and hot/cold drinks.
• Handle cash and card payments while balancing the register.
• Keep tables clean, sanitize the counter, and restock grab-and-go items.
• Follow opening and closing checklists faithfully.
• Adhere to local health department sanitation rules and alcohol control laws.
