Job summary

Longo is seeking a Line Cook – Full Time for its Market Cafe at the Longo’s Support Centre. The role involves preparing daily breakfast and lunch, and weekly dinner features for internal teams, plus catering orders for meetings and events.

Shifts run 6:30AM-3:00PM or 7:30AM-4:30PM, rotating every 3 weeks, Monday–Friday. Candidates should have a High School Diploma and be able to lift up to 50 pounds, working well in a fast-paced, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to Market Cafe visitors and staff.
• Offer food recommendations and information on ingredients, nutrition, storage, and cooking.
• Plan and prepare weekly menus with Market Cafe Team Lead.
• Prepare and cook daily breakfast and lunch menus.
• Prepare, cook, and deliver catering orders.
• Set up Market Cafe displays, stock products, and manage rotation.
• Check dates and remove substandard products from storage.
• Adhere to Longo’s dress code and food safety standards.

Position: Line Cook – Full Time

Shift: 6:30AM-3:00PM & 7:30AM-4:30PM (rotating every 3 weeks)

Days of work: Monday – Friday

A Line Cook will work in our Market Cafe‚ at Longo’s Support Centre which caters to Team Members at the Support Centre, Distribution Centre, Central Kitchen and Central Meat. As a Line Cook, you will prepare and cook daily breakfast and lunch menu offerings as well as weekly dinner features for internal team members. You will also play an important role in preparing catering orders to support internal meetings and events.

What you’ll do;

• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers visiting the Market Cafe by acknowledging them immediately, ensuring all areas are clean at all times, products are stocked and daily menus and catering orders are ready on time

• Provide food recommendations for customers and product information such as ingredients, nutrition, value, storage, cooking etc

• Plan & Prepare weekly menus with the Market Cafe Team Lead

• Prepare & Cook daily breakfast and lunch menus

• Prepare, Cook & Deliver Catering orders

• Set-up the Market Cafe (product presentation, stocking, displays, signage, and rotation)

• Check dates and remove substandard products immediately from coolers/ counters/shelves

• Prepare required product in keeping with department standards and production needs

• Adhere to Longo’s dress code and appearance guidelines that are also in keeping with food safety standards
