The Line Cook will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items for various meal periods, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Special/Catered Events. Produces small to large batch goods using classical cooking techniques.

The responsibilities include food preparation for residents in a Senior Living / Healthcare environment, following standardized recipes, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Prepare and cook foods requiring short to mid-level preparation time.
2. Operate kitchen equipment, prepare food per recipes, and serve at various meal periods.
3. Ensure food quality and safety standards are met, including allergen and foodborne illness training.
4. Handle inventory, ensure proper storage, and prepare meals for special diets.
5. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment.
6. Follow safety policies, participate in safety training, and attend hazard assessments.

Education and Work Experience

• High school diploma required.
• Current Food Handler’s Permit required; Servsafe training and state sanitation certification beneficial.
• 3-4 years of related food service and cooking experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Extensive knowledge of kitchen operations and food prep.
• Effective communication skills in English.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and safety instructions.
• Computer literacy.
• Dependability, organization, patience, and compassion for seniors.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks like bending and reaching.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: $17.26 - $20.72, based on experience and qualifications.
