Job summary

Versailles Café & Pastries in Encinitas is seeking a Line Cook to prepare high-quality breakfast, lunch and brunch with French specialties such as crepes and galettes. Everything is made from scratch; you may propose weekly specials and assist with a variety of kitchen tasks to keep the operation running smoothly.

The ideal candidate is experienced, creative, and committed to delivering an excellent dining experience. Morning shifts end by 4:30 pm; weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• Reliability and consistency in kitchen duties.
• Previous experience in a similar role is required.
• ServeSafe or Food Handler’s Certification is required.
• Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure.
• Excellent time management skills are essential.
• Must meet physical demands, including standing long periods and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Willing to work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food and present it in an appealing manner.
• Maintain inventory and restock when necessary.
• Ensure condiments and garnishes are prepared and served with the foods.
• Keep stock rooms, coolers, and freezers clean; rotate stock and label perishables.
• Follow all food safety regulations.
• Participate in daily kitchen opening and closing procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned by head chef or management.
