Job summary

North Beach Village Resort in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Full Time Line Cook to prepare cold food items and manage guest orders with a strong emphasis on speed, accuracy and quality. You will ensure knowledge of the menu, monitor ticket times, and uphold safety and sanitation standards.

The role requires experience in cooking and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, within a busy hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with the public, hotel staff, and management in a professional manner.
• Proven cooking experience, including as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook.
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
• Familiar with industry best practices.
• A culinary school diploma is a plus but not required.
• Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.
• Responsible and trustworthy.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cold food items including salads, fruits, dressings, fish items, and appetizers according to designated recipes and quality standards.
• Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner.
• Ensure knowledge of menu and food products.
• Monitor ticket times and food quality.
• Practice safe food handling, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards during the shift with proper safety equipment.
• Know the food hierarchy in storage and maintain designated food stations.
• Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen.
• Adhere to federal, state, local, and company regulations on food handling and storage.
• Other duties may be assigned by the department head.
