Job summary

Genesis Hospitality and Dining LLC in New Jersey is seeking a Line Cook to join a fast-paced kitchen. You will follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specs, and help with service and production across kitchen areas.

The role requires attention to quality, sanitation, and safety, with weekend/morning/evening shifts possible. Prior kitchen experience and reliability are essential, and Spanish language ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, however, not required.
• Experience in food service or kitchen environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
• Executes service and production of food products for all/any areas of the kitchen.
• Recognizes quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products.
• Assists with cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen and storage areas.
• Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Kitchen Manager.
• Maintain assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition.
• Handle food in a manner consistent with local health department guidelines.
• Follow proper food handling techniques and coordinate use of time, material and equipment to avoid waste and expense.
• Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene.
• Comply with department’s dress code.
• Follow safety regulations, reporting injuries or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, mornings, evenings.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Well developed and multi-tasking, organizational skills, and detail oriented.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
• Candidate must be dependable and reliable.
