Job summary

Freehand Los Angeles is seeking a dedicated prep cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare food to the highest standards, follow recipes, and support line cooks during service.

Attention to detail, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and strong communication with servers and supervisors are essential. Previous hotel kitchen experience is preferred, with reliability and teamwork valued in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Dexterity to operate food machinery.
• Ability to grasp, lift and move items up to 100 lbs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipes and standards.
• Start items ahead of time, avoiding over-preparation.
• Date and rotate perishables; check pars for shift use.
• Keep buffet stocked and assist with plate presentation.
• Comply with food cost controls and waste reduction.
• Operate, clean and maintain kitchen equipment; attend as required.
