Job summary

The Surfing Fox, located in The Pierside Hotel in Santa Monica, is seeking a Line Cook who can serve guests with creativity and passion. You will ensure proper sanitation, support line cooks, and help maintain an efficient kitchen from pre-shift to service.

Sage Hospitality Group supports your growth in a dynamic California kitchen. Applicants should have 1–2 years of related experience and a high school education or equivalent.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related experience in hospitality/kitchen positions.
• Knowledge of cooking and kitchen practices.

Responsibilities

• Check items against recipe cards and ensure proper presentation.
• Monitor line setup for maximum efficiency during meal periods.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adherence to SOPs.
• Prepare food to recipe standards and production and portion guidelines.
• Manage pre-prep and avoid overproduction.
• Date and rotate perishables per SOP and maintain temperatures.
• Check pars for shift use and line setup.
• Note shortages and out-of-stock items.
• Assist in keeping buffet stocked.
• Return unused items to storage with cover/date.
• Assist in controlling food cost and reducing waste per SOP.
