Job summary

Out West Restaurant Group is hiring kitchen staff to join the Outback dining team in California, with hourly pay from $18.20 to $21.00 and non-exempt status. We seek team players who can prepare a diverse menu quickly and accurately, maintain kitchen safety, and support a collaborative work environment.

As an Outbacker, you will contribute to a hospitable culture, participate in line cook roles across salad, fry, saute, grill and make up, and support overall restaurant operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Able to work in hot and cold environments.
• Stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting and stooping.
• Manual dexterity to handle glassware, utensils and technology systems.
• Move quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Visual ability to including distance, color, depth and peripheral in low or dim lighting.
• California-Based positions require Responsible Beverage Service Certifications (can be obtained during training).

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items for a diverse menu with speed and accuracy.
• Work in a well-designed kitchen with line cook stations and prep cooks.
• Maintain equipment and cleanliness of kitchen area.
• Collaborate with team to meet prep and delivery standards.
• Use proper safety equipment and follow recipe standards.
• Restock kitchen and cook line as needed.
• Uphold food safety, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Demonstrate teamwork across restaurant operations as needed.
