Job summary

Areas USA is seeking an experienced Cook to join our Operations team in Houston. You will be responsible for preparing meats, seafood, vegetables, and other hot menu items with accuracy and speed, while maintaining quality and presentation standards.

The role requires at least 3 years in a full-service restaurant, good English communication, and the ability to follow recipes, portion controls, and safety procedures. Benefits include medical options, PTO, and a 401k plan.

Qualifications

• Culinary studies preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Verbal and written English communication required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment.
• Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
• Maintains correct portion sizes and follows recipes and kitchen procedures.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food at line stations for smooth service.
• Prepares items for various cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and marinating.
• Follows plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
• Participates in kitchen closing procedures and logs temperatures for safety records.
