Job summary

Areas USA, Inc is seeking a Cook in our Houston kitchen to prepare meats, seafood, vegetables and other items for service. The role requires following standard portions, plating, and garnish setup with strict adherence to safety and quality guidelines.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with a pay rate of $16.00 per hour, and includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan. Applicants should be able to stand long hours and lift up to 75 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• Culinary studies preferred for the role.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Strong verbal and written English communication required.
• Ability to read kitchen tickets, recipes and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables and other items for cooking across broilers, ovens, grills and fryers.
• Maintains quality by ensuring standard portion sizes and plating standards.
• Stocks stations and coordinates with receiving to ensure availability of ingredients.
• Records temperatures and follows closing procedures; assists in other kitchen areas as needed.
