Job summary

Brigantine Restaurants in San Diego is hiring a line cook for a fast-paced kitchen. You will set up stations, prepare all food items, follow recipes, and ensure safety and quality standards while working as part of a team.

This role requires 1+ years on a fast-paced line, knowledge of food safety, and the ability to handle heat and lift up to 50 pounds. Wages start at $17–$21 per hour plus tips, with paid sick leave, flexible scheduling, meal discounts, and career advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience on a fast-paced line.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and safe food temperatures.
• Ability to work collaboratively and follow recipes and directions.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Prepare all food items in a timely manner following all company and food safety guidelines.
• Follow recipes, controls, portion and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.
• Follow proper presentation of plates and garnishes.
• Maintain high standard and consistency of food quality and presentation.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of nutrition, common allergies, dietary restrictions and food terminology.
• Handle, store and rotate all food products to maintain quality and safety.
• Track and report food waste.
• Maintain clean and orderly service areas and complete side work duties.
• Comply with established safety and sanitation standards.
• Adhere to company policies and standard procedures.
• Accommodate guest requests with a positive attitude.
• Complete assigned sidework at the beginning, during, and at end of shift.
