Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• At least one year of experience directly related to the duties.
• Possession of and ability to maintain a valid iD within state of Indiana.
• Must have basic reading and math skills for recipes and measurements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare a wide variety of food items to standard in a high-volume, fast-paced operation.
• Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Learn and become familiar with all of Ameristar’s room outlets and answer general questions about the property.
• Read food orders and prepare food items according to established menu plans.
• Prepare all food items according to standard recipes to ensure product consistency.
• Wash, slice, peel, and cut foods to prepare for cooking or serving.
• Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking level by tasting, smelling, or piercing with utensils.
• Maintain sanitary, safe, and organized work areas and equipment.
• Coordinate orders with dining room staff and ensure timely preparation of items.
• Complete opening, closing, and other side duties as assigned by supervisors.
