Job summary

Rising Star Casino in Indiana is seeking an experienced line cook to support food preparation and daily operations in a high-volume kitchen.

You will prepare soups, sauces, and high-value items, maintain sanitary work areas, and work closely with the Sous Chef. Indiana Gaming Commission Level 3 license and ability to perform under pressure are required; sanitation training must be completed.

Qualifications

• Three years of kitchen experience or more.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others while under high stress at all times; understands and complies with all rules and regulations.
• Indiana Gaming Commission Occupational License - Level 3 is required.
• Must view sanitation and food handling video and follow established guidelines.

Responsibilities

• In the absence of a Sous Chef, may be asked to watch over a food outlet.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area.
• Prepares daily soups and sauces and major high value food items.
• Rotates all foodstuffs and ensures FIFO usage.
• Keeps refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage organized; reports low or out of stock items.
• Work closely with Sous Chef.
• Provide service to internal and external customers reflecting STAR values.
• Report any Gaming activity violations per Self-Reporting Policy.
• May also produce banquet food product.
