Job summary

Kelley's Market is seeking a Line Cook to join our team in Pingree Grove, IL. You will prepare made-to-order items, manage cooking stations, and help ensure fast, friendly service for guests. Reports to the Station Manager and assists with daily kitchen operations.

The ideal candidate is at least 16 years old, can work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and can lift up to 50 pounds. Prior food-service or retail experience is a plus in our growing organization.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old (18+ in select markets).
• Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail/food-service environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash and operate a POS system accurately.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally, and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and assemble made-to-order menu items using kitchen equipment.
• Ensure food meets quality, portion, and presentation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and prep areas.
• Follow food safety, handling, and sanitation standards.
• Operate POS and follow cash-handling procedures as needed.
• Work with team to maintain speed and consistency during service.
