Job summary

Longhorn Casino in Las Vegas is seeking a Full Time Line Cook to join our kitchen team. You will apply culinary techniques to prepare a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables and sauces, and contribute to the guest experience through attentive service and plate presentation.

You will collaborate with the Sous Chef and kitchen staff to deliver quality dishes, maintain a clean workstation, and uphold safety and sanitation standards for a busy casino kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of experience as a Cook in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Must communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Stand for long periods (up to 9 hours).
• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of food products and culinary techniques.
• Identify and safely use kitchen equipment.
• Restock kitchen supplies and food items for service.
• Label and date products for safekeeping and sanitation.
• Maintain menu knowledge and plate presentation.
• Assist Sous Chef, Pantry and Kitchen staff during service.
• Prepare base sauces, stocks and soups.
• Work as a team and address guest and team needs.
• Communicate with management to fulfill requests.
• Prepare items for broiling, grilling, frying, or sautéing.
• Ensure portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen rules are followed.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workstation and equipment.
• Close the kitchen properly and follow closing checklist.
