Job summary

Mesquite Gaming Employment Center in Mesquite, NV is seeking a Kitchen Cook to professionally prepare a wide range of foods, from fish and poultry to vegetables, for service to guests.

Candidates must have prior food prep experience, be fluent in reading and speaking English, and stay flexible during peak hours. A valid S. Nevada Health District Health Card is required.

The position involves standing long hours in a fast-paced kitchen and following health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation and food service.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be flexible and adaptable.
• Must have good eye/hand coordination and sense of sight and smell.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and maintain and clean kitchen and food service areas.
• Responsible for proper and efficient cooking procedures including but not limited to preparing raw or cooked food items to company standards and timely service of finished product to guests.
• Prepares food by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables, and trimming and cutting meat, poultry or fish for culinary use.
• Reads food orders or receives verbal instructions on food required by guests, and prepares and cooks food according to instructions.
• Follow all Health and Safety standards are met for assigned work areas.
• Other job-related duties as assigned and instructed by management.
